Anfi del Mar is a tiny paradise place on the South of Gran Canaria island. It is a tourist area with a beautiful beach with white sand brought from Caribbean island, hotels and all the services: toilets, showers, hammocks, umbrellas, a restaurant area and even all kinds of water activities.

I think it’s a good direction for family vacation as the area is very safe and sea water is super Calm. But if you stay in a different place of Gran Canaria or just travel around the island I still recommend to visit Anfi Del Mar and spend a beautiful day there.

What to do in Anfi Del Mar?

As it is a tourist resort there is a plenty of different activities.

  • Sunbathing. Playa de la Verga is a public beach so you can easily come there with your own towel. But if you want to get a sun bed then you need to pay (it cost us 2 euros per day) or also you can go to isla de Maroa (isla Corazon) and relax there;
  • Water activities: motor boats, speedboats, sailboat, pedal boats, banana, kayaks and SUP surf, water parachute;

Also very close to Anfi Del Mar there is another beautiful place – Puerto de Mogan. It’s a meditarían style city that is considered the most beautiful town of the island. So read my guide and go.

Anfi del Mar beaches:

Anfi del Mar was built in the 90s at the initiative of a Norwegian businessman. The idea was to recreate the atmosphere of Caribbean island in Gran Canaria, so they brought thousands tons of white sand from the Bahamas island. Together with the palm trees, restaurants and turquoise water it became the true paradise beach – Playa de la Verga. The beach can be very crowded during the tourist season.

However there is one more beach nearby – Playa de Balito. It is a rocky beach, less popular and more authentic.

Anfi Del Mar restaurants:

In Alfi del Mar you will find many restaurants with beautiful sea or beach view and different cuisine. We had a healthy lunch in a stylish cafe Maroa Beach Poke & More. They have tasty pokes and smoothies. Very recommended.
