Sunset is a very special everyday event on the island. You can spend the day in any way you want, but you must meet the sunset in a good place. Here we are, coming up with 6 great solutions.

1. L’ Alcove

Located in Hink Kong beach just 4 meters away from water L’ Alcove is a French restaurant with everything that comes with it: atmosphere, music, cuisine. However, being situated in the exotic island Phangan the restaurant comes up with slight modifications such as the mix of Thai and French spices in one meal. It is also the first French restaurant in my experience where you can walk only barefoot and can eat laying on the sunbed.

It is also one of the best places to witness the sunset, as the french wine and music adding its charm.

L’Alcove is not only the restaurant but the resort, follow the link, to know more information about it.

2. Freeway Bar

Freeway Bar is located just 200 meters from the L’ Alcove on the Hink Kong beach. It is a very atmospherical and relaxed place. Besides the bar, there is also a handmade shop and a tattoo saloon. The unusual interior can be a good decoration for an Instagram photo. For the evenings they usually invite a DJ, so everyone can enjoy live music sunset.

3. Amsterdam Bar

This one is not situated on the beach, but on the top of the hill. Therefore you have a totally different angle for the sunset together with amazing 180 degrees view on the ocean, which is also great during the day. Amsterdam bar is all about the view, cocktails and chill vibes. Don’t hesitate to have a full lunch here, as the food is also great.

4. The Cabin Beach Resort

The hotel itself is a high-quality resort and one of the most expensive on the island. Check it HERE. It is situated on the quite Leela beach. At the hotel, there is a roof-top restaurant with an infinity pool and sunbed bungalows, which is an awesome place to spend the day. So we just came to the restaurant, ordered food or coconuts and spent the day in this amazing place. In the restaurant, they serve European and American cuisine and prices are quite expensive.

5. Three Sixty Bar

360 bar is not only the sunset view place but also the best Phangan 360 degrees view spot and a popular party place as well. As for me, I would say the place is too crowded and the prices are quite high.

6. Zen beach

A very relaxed place full of hippie and yoga goers. Zen beach would be the first sunset destination you will be advised by locals.

How to get to Koh Phangan?

As there is no airport on the island, you have to combine the ferry with the bus/train or other kinds of transport. Check the timetable of all transport in Asia and combine your route on the portal 12.go.Asia. We booked our transfer from Surathani airport to Koh Phangan (bus + ferry). It was really comfortable as they met us just at the airport entrance and it cost 500 bats per person.

By the way, I have a special article “How to get to Koh Phangan“. Have you checked it yet?
