I was fully prepared before our trip to Italy and got this list of best places to eat in Milan. Unfortunately we couldn’t attend all of them due to the Milan fashion week, but I hope this list will help you to plan your trip.

5 places where to eat in Milan

1.Slowsud

The restaurant is located near the Duomo, but in a non-touristy street. Here you can try homemade Sicilian pasta at affordable prices.

2. Pasta d autore 

A restaurant is specializing on real Italian pasta. For desserts, everyone recommends tiramisu.

3. Spontini. 

It’s a chain of pizza cafes in Milan. They can often be found in city center and as well at the airport. This is essentially fast food, but of good quality. You don’t pay for a whole pizza, but for a large slice. It is lush and full of cheese. If you want to eat cheap and quickly, then this is a good option.

4. Terrazza duomo 21 

Very touristic, expensive and crowded place. But it has a fantastic view overlooking Duomo di Milano. If you want to come here but don’t want to spend a lot of money, you can come for an appetizer: a glass of wine with snacks will cost 15 euros. The place is very popular, so tables must be booked in advance.

5. Motta

Iconic historic place in the center of Milan, open since 1928. It is especially cool to have breakfast here when there are not so many people around, and your airy croissant and aromatic cappuccino are accompanied by absolute beauty.

5 best places for aperitif in Milan:

Aperitif in Italy, this is a separate meal before dinner. You order a glass of wine, pay 5-15 euros for it and pick up as many snacks as you want.

1.Ravizza dal 1871 – nice appetizers near Duomo di Milano. A glass of any drink costs 10 euros, snacks are free.

2. La Prosciutteria Milano Brera. Thinly sliced ​​meat, homemade wine and Italian cheese. A plate of snacks for two costs 10 euros. A glass of wine – starts at 2.5 euros.

2. Pasticceria Cova

Very historical and atmospherical place. The pasticceria was founded in 1817 by the soldier Antonio Cova. He left the service and decided to devote his life to cooking. The place was popular between actors, writers and musicians such as Giuseppe Verdi. The place was even mentioned in the famous Hemingway’s novel “A Farewell to Arms”. It was about dinner at Cova that one of the heroes dreamt.

Best place to eat near Milan Malpensa airport

Samarcanda restaurant is one of the best restaurants of our entire trip to Italy. It is located around 3 km away of Milan Malpensa Airport and has a delicious menu of pasta, pizza and meat at low prices. Pizza Margarita costs only 5 euros.
