Побывать в местах съемок любимых фильмов – мечта любого путешественника, поэтому, когда я узнала о том, что в Австрии снимали «Спектр», то сразу добавила место в наш маршрут. Visiting the locations of your favorite films is the dream of any traveler, so when I found out that James Bond movie “Spectre” was filmed here in Tyrol, I immediately added the place to our itinerary.

Back to Bond, do you recall the place where Bond met Madeleine in the movie “Spectre”?
Yes, this very clinic in the snowy mountains. This place really exists. Only this is not a clinic, but a fashionable restaurant – Ice Q. And it is located in the Austrian Alps at an altitude of 3048 meters above sea level.
Ice Q – great restaurant with amazing view
The restaurant was opened in 2013. The menu includes both haute cuisine and traditional Tyrolean cuisine in a modern author’s performance. You can order a set, or you can choose a specific dish from the menu.
The restaurant is divided into 2 areas: IceQ gourmet restaurant indoors and IceQ Wine & Tapas Lounge on the terrace. There is no dress code in the restaurant.
By the way, it is better to book a table in a restaurant in advance. Especially if you want to sit by the window. I did it by mail and a month before. They asked for an advance payment of 100 euros for a table. As a result, there were free tables, but it’s better not to risk it. The terrace does not require a reservation, but there is a rather limited menu.
Lunch for four cost us 316 euros. We ordered 3 sets of 4 dishes + salad, signature dessert and drinks: wine, water, coffee. The set included 4 dishes: an appetizer, a fish dish, a meat dish and a dessert. And as a compliment we got a few treats and snacks. Everyone was more than full.
If we talk about prices, then a set of 3 courses costs 62 euros, 4 courses – 82 euros and 5 courses – 92 euros. But you can just take a salad or a hot dish for 20 euros or have a coffee (5 euros) with a dessert (8-10 euros).
The most popular cocktail here is, of course, the Vodka martini.
But the author’s drink is Pinot 3000 wine of their own production. This is a Pino Noir made from the raw materials of three famous South Tyrol winemakers. The wine is aged and stored in a local wine cellar at an altitude of more than 3000 meters. One glass costs 20 euros.
One thing is for sure, eating with this view is a dream. Even in summer you are surrounded by snowy peaks.

007 Elements – unique James Bond museum
During its existence, the restaurant has received many awards and good reviews from critics. But it gained particular popularity precisely with the release of “Spectre”. After the shooting of the film, a Bond themed museum “007 Elements” was built next to the restaurant, which added even more uniqueness to the place and made it a definite must-visit in Austria.
“007 Elements” – a true paradise for James Bond fans. Already at the entrance to the museum you find yourself in the atmosphere of Bondiana. In each room you will find either an interactive installation with a story about the making of films, or an authentic prop, or videos of iconic movie passages. You will learn interesting technical details and ideas of the authors.

How much does it cost to visit “007 Elements” museum and Ice Q restaurans?
- I already wrote about the restaurant prices above;
- A ticket to the museum for an adult costs 22 euros, and 12-17 euros for a child (up to 15 – 20 years old);
- It is also necessary to buy a ticket for the cable car, as there is no other way to get there. Adults – 32 euros, children under 15 – 18 euros;
- Car parking is free.
How to get to Ice Q?
The restaurant and museum are located on top of a mountain in the city of Sölden. To get there you need to use the Gaislachkogl cable car. It is not to be confused with other lifts thanks to the signs with the name of the museum 007 Elements. There is free car parking right next to the Cable Car. On the first gondola you will get to the middle of the mountain, then change to another one, which will take you to the top. The way will take 25 minutes in total.
Also pay attention to the opening hours of the restaurant, museum and cable car. The museum is open from 9 am to 3:30 pm. The restaurant is open from 09:00 to 16:00, but hot meals are served until 15:00. The last gondola departs from the top at 16:45.
Hike to Gaislacher See
The restaurant offers not only a beautiful view of the snowy peaks of the mountains, but you can also notice a mountain lake in the shape of a heart. From Ice Q to the lake you can walk along a special path (1.9 km). The trip there and back will take about 2 hours. And it’s a great way to whet your appetite.
